Poem Fractured

Fractured

Arguments fights and tantrums
Cloud the air with horrid noises
A family splits down the seems
Friends and foes are made

The bitter taste of guilt
Poisons everyone to the very core
Everyone feels at fault and trapped
Pulled between parents like a tug of war

You’re the thread between your parents
You become a messenger of slander
As your parents toss insults
Back and forth through your innocent voice

Confused who to trust which should you chose
This break in a family is a fracture
That doesn’t heal or mend
And slowly breaks you down
